| The Sales Manager Program |
Sales Academy, Inc. developed the International Ag University to create the successful Ag dealership salespeople of the future. At present, a number of training programs exist for the development of Ag dealership salespeople. All are event-style programs that, although they have merit, provide piecemeal patches that constitute just-in-time training.
The International Ag University develops salespeople and sales managers, over a three-year period, in a structured and sequential manner, to become experts in their fields. All programs have been developed to follow a logical path with each training class building on the one before. Each training module has built-in accountability that provides evidence that learning has taken place. The International Ag University is not just another training program -- it creates the Ag Equipment Consultant of the future.
Two Disciplines
International Ag University offers classes in two disciplines. Additional courses of study are planned for the future.
1. SalesSalespeople go through a rigorous three-year development program that qualifies them to become true Ag Equipment Consultants.
2. Sales Management
Open only to those sales managers who have salespeople enrolled in the Sales Program, this discipline currently shows them how to manage the changing salesperson in the Sales Program. A new full Sales Management Program is being developed.
Regionalized Training
The International Ag University has a local flavor. To minimize travel for dealer personnel, programs are offered in several regions in the United States and Canada.Intensive Training Leading To Certification
After training classes, students are required to demonstrate their competency in the dealership through a series of exercises and report-back forms. They will also have monthly homework assignments to be turned in on a timely basis. At completion of each program, the student is awarded a certificate with real value in the industry and has dramatically improved their value to their dealership.Limited Number of Enrollments Accepted
Classes are kept to a size that will allow the instructors to be effective and to provide as much one-on-one time as needed. Only a limited number of students are accepted each year.University Year
The University year runs from November through October for some students and from July through June for others. The first courses will be offered in November 2003. The second University year will begin November 2004. Most courses are repeated once to allow for students who are unable to attend the first classes. Enrollment begins in the fall of 2003 and will be on a first-come basis.Manufacturer-Specific Courses
While enrollment is open to all brands, most courses will require a separation of students by manufacturer.Training Calendar
Students in the sales program attend two days three times a year. The Sales Manager training program dates are coordinated with the sales managers of participating students once the University year gets under way.
Accountability
Each course, including manufacturer product training courses, includes post-training activities designed to ensure the subject matter is practiced in the field. Students are required to complete and submit report-back forms. All homework assignments must be completed and returned. Students who fail to return these follow-through forms will not be allowed to attend the next course until they have satisfied the requirements.Costs
The tuition is per student and includes all materials, testing, classroom facilities and certain meals at training locations. Travel to the training locations and other accommodations are the responsibility of the student. However, the International Ag University, whenever possible, arranges for discounted sleeping room rates for students. The annual tuition is due in full at the time of enrollment and is not refundable for any reason except termination of the employee. In these situations, refunds are prorated.| Sales Training Program | $1800 per year USD |
